Wiko Slide: the first smartphone KitKat Wiko |
It was almost a promise in 2014, Wiko introduce smartphones with the latest version of Android, KitKat. A promise due: having dabbled Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Wax (the first model under Tegra 4i), here is the slide, its first model with Android 4.4 préembarqué. A leap into modernity after so many terminals as Jelly Bean 4.2 and its sub-versions.
A second phablette in Wiko after Darkside
Although this detail is a real revolution for Wiko Silde is not limited to this, quite the contrary. This model also features the second largest range of screen behind the Darside (5.7 inches): 5.5 inches. The definition here is pretty average as it reached the qHD (960 x 540). Is a rather low resolution, given the size of the screen: 201 dots per inch. We are far from 5 inch Full HD Highway ...
To animate this slab Wiko chose a quad-core chipset clocked at 1.3 GHz, certainly from MediaTek. This component is compatible 3G + (21 Mb / s). The chipset comes with 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD) and a 2,350 mAh battery. The main camera sensor is an 8-megapixel model, while the webcam offers a 2 megapixel definition.
A design that clearly recalls the Wax
All gathered in a colorful frame (not as much as Rainbow however) 8.9 mm thick for an overall weight of 166 grams. Lines of this mobile clearly recall that the wax, with this part of the hull under the silver separated by a border screen. Perhaps the beginning of a range ... Available at launch in four colors (black, white, coral and a beautiful turquoise), the slide will be positioned at 170 euros.
Here is an interesting product volume from Wiko, which offers its phablette a rather aggressive stance and a formidable feature: KitKat. That should quickly forget the episode of the SMS bug, which is solved by an update released earlier this week on all models concerned.
